Mr. K’s Sneak Peek

Have I mentioned how much I love newborn sessions? Well, I do… I think they are some of my most favorite moments to capture. Mr. K was quite the gentleman. He did just as he was supposed to, gave us some wake time pictures and then went right to sleep for us to get the ever so popular basket pictures his mommy wanted. Then he woke again for his family portraits. Big Brother K was so proud of his new baby brother.

Sleeping babies are so precious… Don’t you think?

Ten tiny little toes… Perfection.
Would you believe he was almost 6 weeks old at this session? Typically newborn sessions are best during those first two weeks of life because they tend to lose that sleepy, curled up newborn look after then. Mr. K was a little early though so he was still pretty close to that stage. I can’t wait to finish editing these for Mr. K’s family. Better get to work!

My favorite is the one of the feet hanging over the basket. Awesome pictures.

Jill, I just came across Kace’s proofs on your website. Love the one of Kye eating Kyle’s face! Haha. Also like the one with both boys’ feet… really cute to see what a 3 year age difference makes! Great job!

Thanks Julie! Wasn’t that one cute? I had to include the action shot… Sometimes (most times) I like those more than the posed.

Tu-Tu Cute!

So besides photography, I like to make things. I recently tried my hand at making a tu-tu. A no sew tu-tu. It was quite easy! We actually made this for a Birthday present, but had to try it on and take pictures to document it.

Here is Haidyn modeling it for me.

So tu-tu cute! Don’t you think? I’d love to make one for your little one or as a gift. Get with me on prices and specifics and we’ll make it happen!

I also like to make burp cloths. I’ll have to post pics of those the next time I make some.

She’s a QT…the color is incredible. As always great shots.

  2. Angela

She is adorable. We don’t need any tutus over here (wouldn’t the Mr flip over that one!!) As it is, Ethan’s favorite color is pink and his favorite movie (up until just a few weeks ago) was The Little Mermaid!!

It can’t be that hard, huh?

So as I posted earlier, we got to see the triplets in person this weekend. They were dedicated. They did so good in their first (non-doctor) outing. It was actually another baby (probably 6-8 mos) old that cried the entire time. I don’t see what my sister-in-law is talking about when she says she’s worn out from these babies. They were so pleasant during the dedication, then just slept the whole time we were there at the house; only waking to eat. Just kidding, Amy! I think you’re doing an awesome job. There’s a reason God gave you 3 at once! He knew you could do it!

We had a great time hanging out and seeing the babies! Can’t wait to do it again.

Disclaimer: For the photography buffs… These aren’t technically correct in any way… Hubby took some as did I. Some were in Auto too! Basically a day of enjoyment instead of trying to get that perfectly exposed picture.

Man those are some good looking kids!

  2. Amy

Oh…And you wanna come hang out at my house for a few days and then tell me this isn’t hard! Ha!

You love my humor don’t you?! LOL!

It’s not easy being a photographer’s family!

This past Sunday we were invited to see Kevin’s sister and husband’s triplets dedicated at their church. I thought it might be a good opportunity to get some current family pictures taken since we’d all be dressed up and the church there is a really pretty church. So we got our Easter outfits on and off we went. Well, I should have known it was going to be difficult when I realized Caleb had experienced an accident and messed up my shirt and his pants. Good thing I brought back-up pants for him. By the time church was over he was getting hungry and tired… Oh gosh… We still tried to take a couple, but let me tell you, he was not in it. And as you can see from past posts, he’s really a smiley baby. This past week though he was diagnosed with double ear infections and he’s cutting two teeth at the same time. You’d think I’d know by now…

But here were our humble attempts at family portraits. (And thank you, Aunt Kim for helping!)

You can see Kevin was really enthused to be taking pics too… Probably holding a fussy, squirmy baby didn’t help!

Hmm… maybe if we let him stand he’ll do better. Nope… not happening!
Well, maybe next time! If you’ve been to our house lately, you’ll see why we need new family pics. The last time we had family pics taken was seriously when Haidyn was 6 months old! The photographer’s family is so left out! So as you can see, not every ‘photo session’ turns out as planned!

The W Family (nope not the President)

Just a quick action to show you what your canvas should look like from our most recent session. We can do portrait like this or landscape… Just let me know.

I brightened it up a bit… I think it looks nice.

Oh and I also cloned out a few houses in the background to make them less distracting. I think it makes it a more appealing portrait to not have the houses in the background. What do you think? Let me know if there are any other changes that I may have missed. Also… it may look like it’s going to be cropped right by your feet and then not as much on the other side, but that’s just the effect of the canvas action I’m using. There will be equal amounts on the actual canvas.

Let me know if this will work and I’ll get it ordered for you. I’ve got to get a family picture taken of our family so I can have one made too. I think they turn out great!

A Sampling of Mr. A’s Announcement

I came up with a couple of announcements for Mr. A’s family to choose from. This is actually the one they didn’t choose. I didn’t want to spoil their surprise when they mail the actual one out. I truly love photographing little ones like this and then getting to create designs for them to share with their families and loved ones.

Front
Back

This card is a 5×7 postcard style. It can also be UV coated for protection and that wow factor. Oh and in the front the last name has been blurred for their safety.

What a great product. I personally won’t need it for a million years, but I will tell all my friends.

  2. Kimberly

I added music to my blog – you’ll have to check it out. I already had a playlist account, so I just added the code to my blog. Thanks for telling me about that!!! I gave you credit for the music….. 🙂 Have a good day!

My New Favorite… Canvases!

I recently had a client order a canvas of an image I had taken around Christmas time. She doesn’t have children, but she has horses. They are her babies. I suggested the canvas and she was all for it and selected this image. Here is an example of how it turned out…

I think it turned out great! I liked it so much I contemplated ordering one for myself. LOL! And it’s not even my horse!

I went ahead and tried it out on a couple of other images to give you an idea of what you could do for your images.

These canvases and gallery wrapped around wood and come ready to hang with the attached hardware. No frame needed. They make a nice mantle piece or hallway art. With spring in the air, now is the time to schedule an appointment for that perfect image to create a canvas for you and your family.

You really have the best captures. the horse is awesome. How are you liking CS3? I think I got some good pics in St. Augustine, FL this week, but I need to get them up on the net.

Oh thank you! You are too kind… I think some days I still have a lot of learning. I’m really liking the CS3, but I need to keep reading… there is so much to learn and no time to learn in!

Something fun…

Just a quick post to show a siggy I made to use on the message boards I frequent. I just used 3 of my favorite images I’d gotten recently of the kiddos and added some text. If you are looking for something similar or even something a little more detailed just let me know and I can probably throw something together for you pretty easily!

This is fairly low res as I had to follow some guidelines when making it. Nothing spectacular, just something fun! I thought about incorporating something like this into an auto signature for my email, but I’m learning that Yahoo doesn’t like stuff like this too much. It doesn’t even like links…
