Brother ‘C’ and Sister ‘C’ Sneak Peek

I had the pleasure of meeting Brother ‘C’ and Sister ‘C’ the other evening at the park. I think Brother ‘C’ warmed up to me quite fast… He had such a cute little personality. He even asked me to take off my sunglasses so he could see my eyes. I guess the little man wanted to know just who I was since I was taking his picture! Then Sister ‘C’ was so sweet. She has big, gorgeous eyes! I think mom and I could relate since two of my kiddos are similar in ages to her two.

So here you go… here are a few of my favorites from the session!

This one is my absolute favorite… I’m a sucker for sweet images like this though!
(This would be my pick for a canvas)
Brother and Sister checking out the little house
He was not the least bit scared to get up on this old tractor!

Princess ‘C’… I love her expression!

Brother ‘C’ and Sister ‘C’… I enjoyed capturing these moments with you. I hope you enjoy this sneak peek of your session and I will be in touch when your proofs are ready for viewing!

WANTED: Girls!

I’ve recently noticed that my portfolio consists of a lot of boy ‘models’. So with that said, I need girls to even things out. If your little princess is needing her portrait made, then contact me for special incentives during this ‘Girls Needed’ time. Big or small, I’d love to capture them, so give me a call or shoot me an email!

My ‘3’ at 8 months…

I thought I’d pull up pics of each of the kids at 8 months to see if they resemble each other. I have to say that each one looks unique. You know how people usually comment that so and so looks like so and so at ‘that’ age. Well, after this little experience, I have to say, they don’t. Interesting, huh? Each child is special and unique in their own way.

Here are the 3 at 8 months old each…

Maddie (pre-digital, her photo is actually an old scan)

(isn’t she petite? She was by far my smallest)

Haidyn (pre-dslr)

(Haidyn actually looks the chunkiest, but she wasn’t)

Caleb (just the other night-obviously)

(the girls weren’t his current weight until they were 12-13 mos.)

So what do you think? Do two resemble more than the other? Or do you think they all resemble one another? What about Cornelius vs. Nutt? (and yes, for those of you that don’t know… my maiden name is Nutt!). Who looks like a Cornelius and who looks like a Nutt? Go ahead and laugh–I’m smiling just typing that out! Just a little fun I thought of having tonight.

Well, I hate to burst your bubble my dear, but they DO favor each other! I think Maddie and Caleb look more alike…I see it in the eyes and mouth mainly. And I totally think they look Nuts… I mean like Nutt’s! 🙂 They have the Nutt lips and the Nutt butt! Now the forehead….that is a Cornelius/Nutt combination.

  2. Angela

Yeah, I am with Amy on this one. Caleb and Haidyn look alike in these pics….however I don’t see the resemblence any more. Maddie is your little mimi me!!

I used to think that Chase looked just like Blake. Also the general consensus is that he looks the most like his daddy. I ran across some of Tony’s baby pics while packing….OMG it looks just like Ethan!! Go figure. I think they all look like him in one capacity or another.

Bumpity Bump…

This is probably old news for family, but I forgot that I had taken pics of it, so I thought I’d blog it.

Last week Caleb and I were in the porch swing watching the girls jump on the trampoline and swing on their swingset. Something we do quite often to make the evening pass while waiting for Daddy to get home. Well, most of you know I have this fear of bees and I thought I saw one coming towards us (I’m allergic), so I proceeded to stand up. BUT… I didn’t quite make it. Somehow the swing swung out from underneath me and we went down. I managed to not drop Caleb (all 20 lbs. of him!), but we still went down. I hit my ankles (must have been on the edge of the porch), my left palm, and my right knee. However, the momentum must have kept flowing and Caleb hit his head. Right above his right eye. I immediately got up, but he was already wailing.

Great, I’m thinking to myself (not to mention the pain I was in)… another trip to the ER–we just went a few weeks ago when Haidyn fell off her bicycle. Since we’ve experienced head injuries with all our children now, I pretty much knew what to look for. So I just watched him. It immediately welped up (good sign) and he did calm down. I managed to snap a few shots to record his injury.

Looking at these pics makes me realize it looked much worse in person. And I’m sure hearing my baby’s head slam against the concrete enhanced what I was seeing. I continued to monitor him, but we went on with our evening as usual. I’m glad to say that by morning the swelling was gone and all he had was the remnants of a little raspberry from the scrape when he hit. A week later, I’m still dealing with a scraped knee, but it’s no longer sore. I have to say it’s been ages since I skinned my knee!

For memories sake, I found some old pictures of Haidyn when she bumped her head. These are actually taken several days (if not a week) after her injury happened. So you can’t really see the true damage. Her’s welped up pretty much immediately too. She is 10 months in these pictures.

Her incident was the result of Maddie pushing her too fast in her doll stroller. You know those little umbrella strollers that aren’t meant real babies, but only for baby dolls? Well, she got to going too fast running and rammed her into the corner in our old living room. Little did I know that was the beginning of their sisterly relationship. LOL!

OMG! I am glad everyone is okay! And I didn’t know you took Haidyn to the ER last week…what happened?

  2. Jill Cornelius

It was actually about a month ago… She fell off her bike and hit the back of her head on the concrete. It didn’t swell much and within a couple of hours she was vomitting… Signs of a concussion. Kev took her to Med. City and they ran tests. It was a concussion, but all in all she was fine and nothing ‘major’ was wrong.

A little scary though at the time. And I didn’t go with them because it was bedtime and didn’t think we should drag the whole family to the ER. So even harder to not be there with my other ‘baby’.

  3. Two Sisters

Poor little Caleb! We’ve been lucky in the injury department so far (knock on wood), but I’m sure we won’t be able to escape it much longer.

  4. Angela

Am I a bad friend for laughing? I am glad you guys weren’t really hurt. I am sure that this is the first of many for Caleb. if I can find the pics and get them scanned, I’ll have to show you the pic of my sister’s head after I told her that she could fly if she jumped off the back of the couch with her blankie tied around her neck….or the one with stitches in my head after a game of chase gone bad….socks and tile floors don’t mix!! And we were GIRLS!! My boys have had so many goose eggs, but never a concusion (at least not a formally diagnosed one) I am glad Haidyn is good, that is kind of scary, guess she’ll be getting herself a bike helmet huh?

Boys will be Boys!

Dialogue from an 8 month old…

So, I see we gotta do this picture thing again… together. Hmph…
Uh… what is he doing?
MOM! He’s touching me!
Please, don’t make me do this! Oh, what? Just one…
Hey, hey… that tickles…
K, take the picture now! I’m smiling…

So my plan the other day didn’t go so well to get a picture of both the boys together in their jeans and tummies showing! Mr. B had just gotten done taking quite a few and Mr. C had just woken up from his nap. Maybe next time…

Oh and excuse my conversions… we were losing the sun fast and my pics were not up to par… I had to convert them to ‘save’ them and I obviously didn’t convert them all the same. Oh well! It was some quick editing for a quick post!

So, how did you add the “give me some love” comment? And the other comment next to the comments on the main page “will you leave me some?”

Hardly anybody ever replies on my blog anymore. I know a bagillion people read it, but only a hand full respond….just lurking I guess. Not very motivating to update them. 🙂

Those are cute pictures! Maybe we can take some pics of the babies when I come out (hopefully this week). I am going to email you about that in a bit. It’ll be fun for both of us, I am sure and hopefully will break up our week!

  2. Ben, Jennifer, and Audrey

Look how cute those turned out, Jill! Love the B&W! The bluebonnets are actually on the way to Firewheel. Rowlett Road, go right on Pleasant Valley, go less than 1 mile…bluebonnets are everywhere on the right side on a hill or you can go a little ways down where we went. In between two schools is a little field area. They’ll probably be fading fast, so you’ve got to go soon! It was a great spot b/c there’s no cars zooming by!

Mr. B is 8 months!

This past weekend I had the pleasure of photographing Mr. B. He is my nephew, so we made a family event out of the photo shoot! I think we had 5 or so outfit changes, but he was a pro… no complaining, just went with the flow. Most kiddos would have been done by change #2!

Here are some of my favorites from the session…

In this picture, I did a quick clone of Mr. B’s mommy’s hair because it was blowing (can you tell)?

I love this shot… I’ve been wanting to do this with Caleb and daddy, but we haven’t had a chance to yet.

The next several pictures are different sports themes… He has a sports room and I’m going to create a collage of all the different sports. I haven’t gotten that far yet, but I’ll be sure to post it when I do!

Check out his eyes in this picture! Aren’t they gorgeous? I did absolutely no editing to his eyes… this is just how they look!

Love his little tooth sticking out! He actually has 3 teeth (two on bottom and this one on top).

There are many more, but these were all I had edited up to this point. I’ll possibly post more of my favorites later. There were some cute Longhorn ones (for the UT fans) and then a mommy and me and a daddy and me shot that I really liked.

There’s My Happy Boy…

Things have been a little rough around here these past two weeks. Caleb was/is fighting a doozy of an ear infection that would not go away. He is on his 2nd set of antibiotics. Add to that the appearance of two new little teeth and he has been quite the bear. Not letting me do ANYTHING! But hold him. And oh how I love to hold him, it sure makes it hard to do anything else…

This weekend I think his medicine was finally doing it’s job and I got some shots of him hamming it up with his new cheesy smile.

Isn’t it amazing the difference in pictures taken inside versus outside? The inside pictures were taken with very little natural light as I only have one window in my living room and a porch right outside that window. Most of my light was coming from my kitchen with was not real close to where I was shooting.

Well, hopefully my happy baby is here to stay… or at least until the next tooth pops up!
