The last of the Christmas bunch…

A few days ago, I had the last of my holiday shoots… It was a fun shoot–3 kids all similar age gaps as my crew, so I could definitely relate to this mom. You might recognize this beautiful bunch from the Spring when I did baby sister’s newborn portraits. They are a stunning family and I was excited when she contacted me. This time, I got to meet dad too!

Here are some of my favs from the session–the weather was gorgeous! Definitely not common weather for November…

Who’d of thought we’d get a keeper within the first 5 minutes of our session? How great is this?
Where it all started!

Love the sky in this one and brother doing what he does best–being a monkey!

Yes, the stacked family is one of my favorite poses!

OMG! An all time fav–how beautiful is this light? Love it, love it, love it!

This one too!

I always like to include a b&w or two, but it was hard to pick one out since I loved the touch of red with black!

I think this is my fav family one! Just gorgeous…

Big sister!

The brother–love his eyes!

Baby sister!

One last one for good measure!

Thank you L family! You have a beautiful family and I enjoyed hanging out with you all. I’ll be in touch soon so we can get your card designed!

Those eyes…

Mr. L has some of the most handsome eyes… He’s a baby planner of mine, so you probably will recognize him. He’s now 7 months old and sitting like a pro. As you have probably been able to tell, several of my baby planners are very close in age, so it’s neat seeing each of them hitting these milestones together.

We did some fun stuff and worked as fast as we could since we knew naptime would get there before we knew it. I think we got some mighty cute stuff too!

His sweet profile!

Little elf…

Little man!

Daddy’s little man!

Standing tall.

I love this one–aren’t his eyes gorgeous?

The family…

This series called for a collage… Love his many expressions and then him looking up at his parents!

Cute little vest–so popular with the little boys lately!

Drummer in the making–music is in his blood!
Sleepy time… We tried to see how far we could push him–we still had a couple of things we wanted to do, but once he saw his blankie and monkeys, he was ready for naptime. So sweet!

Thank you R family! Hopefully Mr. L got a good nap and was a happy boy the rest of the day for you two. Have a great Thanksgiving and I’ll be in touch.

For a good cause…

Earlier this year, an old co-worker asked me if I’d like to donate a photo session to an auction. I’d never done it, but I thought, why not? This particular benefit was for the Promise House… It is an organization that embraces homeless, runaway and at-risk teens, giving them needed support, encouragement and hope to live a better life. Pretty cool deal…

Well, about a month ago, the family that bid on my session contacted me. How cool is that? I had a bidder. LOL! We set up the session and this past weekend, I went to meet the R family. Let me tell you–the R family was so fun! My cheeks were hurting at times from smiling and I was the one taking the pics, not the one getting my pics taken.

So thank you R family! I truly enjoyed meeting your family and thank you for selecting me to photograph your family. You have a beautiful family that was definitely a load of fun!

Oh and did I mention, how gorgeous they were?!

Sisters!

Miss A here is about to graduate college!

Then this is Miss T. She’s a workin’ girl–in a pretty cool field!

A fun shot…

The parents…

This one too…

Mom said she liked close-ups, so I had to come out of my comfort zone and get a little closer than I usually do!

Back at the house!

You probably can’t read it, but the plaque has their name and when they were married.

Aren’t they gorgeous?

Fun on the stairs!

One more!

Thank you R family for such a fun session–you definitely put my mind at ease once I met you all. I can only imagine how fun your house is at get-togethers. I hope you enjoy your sneak peek!

Mr. J is almost 8 months old!

You might remember this little guy from earlier this year… His mommy is actually the one that gave me the doggy basket you see if some of my newborn shots.

I headed out there on Saturday with my helper. Miss Haidyn. Ha! She never gets to go on shoots with me (because of her age), but Saturday I decided to take her since Mr. J’s mommy and I used to work together and we’ve been friends for a long time now! She did pretty good, but she was a little shy at times. It was funny, she would dance around here and there when I wasn’t taking pics, Mr. J would watch her, smile, etc., but as soon as it was time to take pics, she would stop. So funny!

I think mommy probably thinks we didn’t get much, little guy was teething and naptime was approaching quickly, but as you’ll see, we got lots of cute smiles and expressions!

Little business man–look at him sitting so tall and sticking that chest out!

Love this basket one!

Standing tall with daddy.

One with mommy & daddy!

His expressions were just too cute–thought he needed a collage to display all of them!

Choo-choo!

And all done! The end. LOL!

He was such a trooper, hanging in there for all our outfit changes and props, etc. Thank you Mr. J! It was so fun seeing how big you had gotten from that tiny baby I remember.

Part 2 of Baby W… So sweet!

The other day I went out to Mr. W’s house to take some family portraits since big brother was at school at our newborn session. We were fighting some storms, but thankfully had a window of non-rain and was even able to slip outside for an outdoor shot.

Here is a tidbit of what we did…

The new family!

Big brother…

I’m really loving outdoors on the porch pics right now…

We couldn’t forget the other family member!

So sweet…

Proud parents.

The family bed!

Little fun with the mirror!

Love how it looks like baby brother is almost smiling!

One day, pics like this, will actually be of them wrestling each other to the ground. LOL!

Mom & Dad!

Thank you H family! I can’t believe how big baby W has gotten in just the few short weeks since I saw him.

Beautful new place…

Yesterday, I got to meet a new family at a new place… Hubby scoped out locations and found this gem of a place. It was so peaceful and quaint. The clouds would come and go, but they were a great filter and we got some nice stuff.

Not to mention the cuties the little ones were!

Little closeup of the family together…

Don’t you love the colors of their outfits?

They really do love each other–haha!

Fav family… I love the more unposed, lifestyle stuff!

Isn’t she cute?!

And what about these dimples?!

I thought the clouds made for some neat views of the sky!

Blondies!

Now this one, I had fun with… Love the ‘carefree’ image it portrays of children!

I think this might be my absolute favorite of the two kids!

One last one of the fam!

Thank you L family for finding this spot… Good job, dad! Oh and if you ever find a ‘hidden spot’ that you want to try for your shoot, just let me know. I’m always open to new stuff!

Another familiar face at a popular place…

Yesterday, I got to go back to the waterfalls… Such a great location with all the little pockets of fun! This time it was with a family that you might recognize the handsome little guy from a couple months ago. I did his 3 month portraits then and this time we did some family stuff.

Here is a tidbit from our morning…

The boys!

Momma and her baby boy!

I love this one… Even with the little guy’s eyes closed he’s laughing so hard!

Gotta do the baby in the basket…

Love those big eyes!

Mommy & Daddy are so funny!

Such a little man…

The family.

Little guy was so tired by this point… He was asleep within seconds…

But a 5 minute catnap and he was smiling some more for us!

I hear he went right to sleep as soon as they put him in the car though… Modeling is such a hard job! He did so good too. Thank you P family… I hope you enjoy your sneak and I’ll be in touch soon.

Mr. F is 6 months too!

Another one of my baby planners turned 6 months recently and we did his session this weekend also. He was all smiles and so cute… We planned for a little session at the waterfalls and then topped the session off with the traditional 6 month studio stuff.

Look at that smile!

Can you see where he gets his dimples from?

Daddy’s little man!

He was so interested in the falls… It’s pretty loud by the water, so it takes a lot of coaxing to get the babies to look my way–I almost need an assistant just for that part!

Gotta love baby in a basket in the middle of all the leaves!

Now onto the studio stuff… Well, natural light studio for now…

Check out those eyes! I want to just borrow their sliding glass doors and use them for all my indoor stuff. Perfect catchlights!

How cute is this?

Santa’s little helper.

Getting bigger in the doggy basket… He won’t fit much longer!

Eye contact!

Standing tall…

Thank you L family! I loved seeing how big Mr. F is… Such a happy baby!

What an adorable little chunk-a-munk. He's getting so big! This is your "smiley" baby right? That lighting is indeed stunning Jill.

  2. The Lujan's

    I love them!!
Thank you for being so patient with my little one.
    You are the BEST!!

The L Family…

Today my day started at the waterfalls… We almost thought we’d have to brave the mist, but by the time we got across town it had stopped. Woo-hoo!

The waterfalls are a great spot because there are so many little pockets to pick for your portraits.

Let me show you…

We’ve got the funky looking tree!

You can even climb it…

A bench with pretty leaves all around.

And you can’t forget the actual waterfalls…

Different angles…

On the rocks!

On a random chair in the middle of nowhere…

In front of a stone all…

How about on the wall?

You can even lay in the middle of those leaves!

Or pick a tree for a close-up.

So, yep, lots of places. You’ll see even more spots in my next post because I got to do another family there later. Plus I’m going back on Tuesday and Thursday of this week. Fun, fun!

Thank you L family…

We finally meet…

A while back, I had a new client come to me and I always like to know how people found me since I don’t do any formal advertising… Well, this particular client told me a name and I realized, it was someone I had never met. Hmmm… Interesting… Cool, though! Well, finally, through other referrals, Facebook, etc., I found out who this person was! And–we met yesterday. Finally!

Let me tell you, she is a sweet person with a cute little girl, nice husband and baby boy on the way! So be on the lookout in the future for their faces again… Belly pics and baby pics will be coming soon! But for now, we have the family as they are… A family of 3!

I’m glad we finally got to meet C family! Can’t wait to meet your new addition…

**Scroll down for another post tonight… It’s going to be another blogapalooza, so stay tuned for more!

How old is the little girl? I love the picture of her walking between mom and dad on the bridge. My little girl makes that same face! I love the last family photo, but I like close-ups.

  2. Jill Cornelius

She is 20 months. Isn't she cute? I like close-ups too!
