Such a little man!

Today I got the honor of photographing my new nephew… He was absolutely precious. He definitely made us work for what we got, but in the end, it was all worth it. I think we were all sweating after this shoot. We ended just in time for his next feeding!

He’s a little guy… Kind of had a rough start and was in the NICU the first few days of his life, but the docs say he’s going to be just fine.

In Daddy’s arms…

So precious sleeping…

This is a little hat I made him for his baby shower.

This is his little lovie that is in remembrance of his mommy’s dog that passed away recently.

Some mommy lovin’!

The little man… He was waking up here and starting to root, so we ended our session here.

Thanks for letting me photograph my new nephew!

He is absolutely B-E-A-Utiful! Love the pics.

  3. Jill Cornelius

    Thank you girls!

  4. Amy

He is so sweet! I love the Kodiak tribute, Kim! I can definitely tell he is your baby Kim in the profile pic of you two. So precious!

  5. Les and Kimberly

Oh my gosh – they are absolutely adorable. They are too cute – how will I ever decide??!! You did a great job and you’re right, he DID make us work for the pictures!!!

  6. Marsha

    Absolutely beautiful!!!

  7. Julie

Wow he looks so tiny. How much did he weigh? The 3rd shot is such a fetal position – makes you think this was exactly how he was curled up before he was born! I like the blue blankie ones, too.

  8. Dawn

    Aww ~ He is adorable!!!

  9. Jill Cornelius

He was 6 lbs 2 oz at birth and I think he was 5 lbs 8 oz the day before our shoot (but his mommy can correct me on this one). I couldn’t get over how tiny he was, but he was pretty long…

those are some great pics! congrats Kim and to you Jill, the new aunt! 🙂

  11. Les and Kimberly

yep, you’re right! he is a long and skinny little guy – just like his daddy! 😉

Jill, you did an amazing job! When Ryan and I are pregnant again I will be flying in to have pictures made. I cried so hard when I saw Kim with him. Precious angel! You are soooo talented. (I am Kim’s friend by the way) 🙂

Pregnancy is a beautiful thing…

I think you’ll agree when you see this mommy to be… And dad is so excited you can see it on his face!

It won’t be long and this couple will be welcoming their little man into the family… And guess who gets to photograph him? :o)

So while we wait for him to get here, check out some of my favs from today’s session!

Collages…

I don’t think I’ve posted a collage lately… I try to make one with every session. Since I can’t keep myself from editing Miss K’s newborn portraits (and I have other sessions ahead of her-whoops!),I made a collage–then I’ll resume editing the other session I have ahead of her–just needed my baby fix for the day! Oh and collages come mounted and clear coated so they’re ready to display on a plate rack or can be framed.

Then just another sweet one of her with her little lovie. Lovies make great growth items! It’s a good idea to bring them to every session on the baby plan and then you can ‘track’ how big they’re getting. Then at the end of the year, I can make a collage with a collaboration of growth item portraits.

Okay, well, I better get back to housework, mommying and all the other stuff I get/need to do. Hope everyone has a great weekend! Spring Break is next week–can’t wait!

Worth the drive…

Today I braved the rains, winds and had a little road trip to go meet this family’s newest member. And let me tell you… It was worth the drive and weather! She was absolutely precious… I’m feel like I’m really getting my knack with newborns–granted I always leave thinking of ‘poses’ I should have done or could have done, but that’s just the type of person I am… I’m always thinking of ways to improve…

Okay… Enough of my chit-chat. I’m sure you’re here to see pictures not, listen to me ramble. LOL!

Meet Miss ‘K’!

Don’t you love that last one? I was about to leave and had actually started to put my camera down, but then she gave us this cute little smile, so I hurried up to catch it! Her face isn’t in focus as much as I’d like because the images before were focusing on her little tummy and my focal point was in the wrong spot for her face, but I think it’s still precious.

Alisa–you’ll have to share that picture with your mom so she can see the result of her great knitting!

From a newborn to toddlers to a kid to a senior…

Whew! What a day I had… But man, was it fun! Such a great learning experience and a new favorite location!

This morning I met up with some local photographers for a photoshoot. One of the locals had some models lined up that we all got to shoot at our leisure. It was so fun!

Here is a collaboration of my day… And this is just a fraction–I think I took close to 350!

First, this is our senior rep… Little did I know that she’s a singer/songwriter/recording artist/actress/model! You can hear some of stuff here.

This was one of the photographer’s little boy.

His cousin… He was hamming it up for us!

Our mom and son model!

Another photographer’s son… He was 6 weeks old, I believe.

Oh and the chair that the senior is sitting on in the first picture is my latest inheritance! So, if you have a session scheduled or want to schedule one, be sure to mention it if you want to use it. It’s a great chair! I love how it photographs! I’d be more than willing to go back to this location too if anyone wants to use it for their next session. It’s a little trek, but so worth it. There were so many pockets that I didn’t even get to touch in the short time I was there.

Speaking of props… I have that #1 prop we made if you want it to use. If not, that is fine too.

One of my favorite newborn sessions is 3 mos. now!

I’m sure you remember this little guy… Well, he is 3 months old now and oh still so cute! He was a curious little guy–checking out my camera in between watching NASCAR racing on the TV. LOL!

He was sort of having a rough day… This time change has us all messed up (or at least at my house we are)!

Pretty blues!

He’s looking at his momma here…

But after a little snack he was all smiles for me!

Then we headed to the park for some family fun since daddy was working when we did his first session.

I love the ‘glow’ new parents have all over their faces when looking at their new baby!

Proud Daddy!

Thank you guys! I hope Mr. C got the rest of his nap after I left… He deserved it after letting us take so many pictures… Can’t wait for our next session–a little secret of mine–6 mos. sessions are some of my favorites… All smiles, sitting up unassisted, but not mobile!

The ‘L’ Girls…

Today I had the pleasure of meeting the ‘L’ girls. They were so sweet; I loved the relationship big sis and lil sis had. You could tell they truly admired each other… Now the wind on the other hand wasn’t so sweet. You know what they say about March Winds… Well, they weren’t tame, that’s for sure!

Once again, I had a difficult time of narrowing down my favorites! That’s becoming a bad habit of mine! LOL! So here are some that stuck out to me at first glance.

Mom and her girls!

Big Sis!

Her eyes were the prettiest shade of blue!

Check out Little Sis’s lashes! Aren’t they gorgeous?

We almost had a tough time getting some shots of the two of them on these steps, but I brought out my secret weapon and voila!, instant smiles.

Towards the end of our session we found a patch of pretty flowers (dandelions) so big sis showed little sis how to make wishes and then we were on our way to our next spot.

Grandma even joined us for our shoot.

Thanks for looking! And thank you ‘L’ girls! I’ll be in touch when the rest is ready…

Haha, saw the date on your post here… we must’ve just missed each other because I too was in that EXACT same spot that same afternoon! What time were y’all there? The cloud cover even looks identical…

  2. Jill Cornelius

I was actually there in the morning… We started early!

F-I-V-E!!

…spells FIVE! Finally got around to editing a few of Mr. C’s sister’s pics for her birthday invite. I’m going to do something similar to another invite I posted a few weeks back. I’m sure you recognize the letters!

She was so funny… She was singing to me and telling me stories while we were taking these, so I got a lot of cute expressions!

Love the letters too…you must know some beautiful, creative people! 😉

Mr. C is 9 months!

Mr. C came back to see me yesterday… I can’t believe how much he is changing… He’s starting to look more like a little boy. I’m sure that by the next time I see him, he will be walking…

This is a big peek… I’d thought I’d share several since we did several different things.

We started out to get one with Big Sis and Lil Brother…

Then we did Mommy and Me!

His growth item…

Another growth item!

Some basket time… All the babies love this basket–no matter how old they are! I don’t remember where I got it, but I’m glad that I did…

Cute little booty! He’s standing and so close to walking…

Baby Blues!

You know how much 9 mos. olds love Cheerios? Well, I saw this idea somewhere and thought, this would be a great milestone prop for this age. He loved it! I think the funniest thing though was how Caleb cried when we threw away the ‘used’ Cheerios. He was so sad!

I think I’ll make a collage out of this series because there are so many cute captures!

We also did some of big sis for her birthday invitation, but I haven’t gotten to those yet… So stay tuned!
