8.29.98

That was the day… 10 years ago this past Friday, Kevin and I were married. At the ripe, young age of 21 and 22… And here we are 10 years later. We’ve definitely had our ups and downs, but I can honestly say that lately we’re closer than we’ve ever been. Ready to continue to follow down that path of growing closer and closer to each other and God.

We celebrated the anniversary by just going to eat at one of our favorite local restaurants (Edohana) and then walking down at the Harbor. It was our first one-on-one date night since we had Caleb! Can you believe it?

My hubby did his usual (something he’s done since we met) and hid my card (and I fall for it every time)… This year our little man was holding it… We were driving down the highway to take him to meet my parents and Kevin told me to look at something he was doing. Earlier he had tricked me into thinking he hadn’t gotten me a card, saying he needed to stop by WM to pick one out. So when I turned around to see what little man was doing, I definitely wasn’t expecting to see him holding my card.

Inside my sweet card was another envelope. Hubby had gotten me something I had wanted for quite some time now. Here’s a pic of it…

Except that it’ll obviously have the names of the kiddos on it! Well, I had to see what size I’ll need, but it’ll be here in about 2-3 weeks. Oh and before I forget, hubby also remembered the wine we had on our wedding night and bought the same kind for a little 10 year toast. I probably don’t give him much credit most times for being a romantic, but this year he did mighty well. Definitely had me surprised!

So here’s to many more anniversaries! I love you, Kevin–forever.

Some interesting facts about our anniversary date: 8/29

  • Presidential Elect John McCain’s birthday
  • VP Elect (can’t remember her name) anniversary with her husband
  • Hurricane Katrina hit
  • Princess Diana was killed (I think it was actually the 28th, but close enough)

I’m sure there are many other facts, but these are the ones that are fresh on the mind. But out of all those facts, it’ll never be as important of a fact as the memory that was created when I married my husband!

More of Mr. C…

I finally got around to getting more of Mr. C’s pics ready to share with you all… He was such a delight and so smiley, I honestly could edit and present 98% of the shots I captured!

Here are some more of my favorites.

Well, better turn in for the night… It’s late and kiddos will be up early!

Those are good. I sure wish mine would smile like that for pictures. How old is he? Actually, mine probably would smile more now.

He’s 3 mos. and a week here. Traci said that he is a pretty happy baby… Much more than Kennedy was at this age.

I’m ready for the trips to all sit unassisted so we can get some cute sitting and naked bum pics. Tell them to keep practicing for Aunt Jill!

Celebrate Good Times… Come On…

Now that I gotcha singing, I thought I’d share some of the pics from Caleb’s 1st Birthday.

First we had a little birthday morning cinnamon roll… A little collage so I could share more pics at one time…

Later we took Caleb for his 1st haircut… He did so well… But mommy (the photographer) was so excited to get his haircut that I left the camera in the car! We got some on the cell phone, but here are some I took of him once we got home. He was not having it! (Another collage)

Saturday was his party… He wasn’t his usual smiley self… He’d had a good nap that morning, but it was quickly approaching his afternoon naptime and well, he just wasn’t as happy as he usually can be. I’m sure the heat could have been a factor in that too!

Caleb and Maddie
Little Haidyn… You can see how hot it was by how red her face is!

Cake-Time! We almost waited too long for cake… Little Man was tiring out, but in the end he enjoyed his little cake! (Collage again!)

Some close-ups of his cake face… I thought I’d show these big since his baby blues were looking especially gorgeous this day!

All in all it was a great party… We appreciate everyone that was able to come! We also want to thank everyone that helped… including Elizabeth who made the great cake! My dad for cooking, my sister for running to get more ice, my parents for helping with the hotdogs, and anyone else who helped for Caleb’s special day!

He’s ONE!

Just a quick post to wish my ‘Little Man’ Happy 1st Birthday! We started the day with cinnamon rolls and a big number 1 candle… (Maddie’s idea). I haven’t taken the pics off my camera yet and I only shot about 3 or 4 to document, but I’m sure after Saturday I’ll have plenty more to share!

Now if the rain will just hold off a little prior, during, and a smidge after the party, we’d be great! And then it can pour on down once we’re out of there…

Til next time!

End of summer fun!

I can’t believe that summer is almost over! In less than two weeks Miss Maddie-Moo will be going to 1st grade… at a new school too! They just built a new Elementary school in our district and she gets to go to it the first year it’s open. I think there are some pros and cons to that… I can see many future blog posts about that!

So we’ve been having some last minute summer fun lately…

We’ve seen some wildlife at the park. Aren’t the babies so cute?

Don’t ask me what they’re doing… (probably bonding).

Then we ventured to the Science Museum at Fair Park. I think the bubbles were a big hit!

Caleb was less than thrilled… This is how he spent most his morning (when he wasn’t snacking on something).

Even when he got to play, he still looked less than thrilled! Poor thing missed his morning nap that day, so he was a little out of it.

Then a few more of the rest of the crew we were hanging with.

Can’t forget about the John Deere tricycles… I almost couldn’t get Maddie off them. Check out Haidyn in the background. She was like, ‘mommy, what’s that?’!

Tomorrow we’re venturing to an indoor jump house place for our last hoorah. The kids were so excited they didn’t want to go to bed tonight, but somehow I managed to get them all in bed by 8:15! I think I amaze Kev when I do that (when he’s not here).

A different kind of client…

So my most recent client is a bit different. I can’t say that they’ve been easier or more difficult… It’s hard to get any other expression out of them than what I got, but at the same time, they don’t move, cry, run-off, etc. They should be the perfect client with those traits… Ha!

Enough joking around… I recently got asked to re-do the gallery for a local company called ProSoap. I’d like to present them with 2-3 different poses (locations) for each product, so here are the two I have come up with so far. Kev has another one in mind for me, but I thought I’d run this by the crew to see what you all think. Their previous background was a black backdrop with their motto on a banner. Not too bad, but they want to convey the whole ‘green’ aspect and promote how their product is activated by water.

You’ll probably recognize this first location from my ‘Serene’ post.

(I probably need to brighten the bucket up a bit in this first one)

So do these locations convey those things for you? Or should I go for our 3rd location? I bet you want to know that location first, huh?

I like the top one. But you can’t mention another option and not show it! Bring out #3!

  2. Amy

The first one seems to grab my eye more on the bucket than the second. But, you may want to zoom in more on the bucket or brighten it up more because my ey still wants to go toward the background.

Isn’t it serene?

This one is for the hubby… He was helping me out with a recent session to find the perfect location and this was one he pointed out. A lot of times he has some pretty crazy ideas, but after editing this one, I think he did pretty good. Love ya, honey!

Things are crazy around here (Caleb’s birthday is Thursday, party is Saturday, our 10 year anniversary is the next week, and then Maddie starts 1st grade in two weeks)! Not to mention the editing, ordering, and etc. for my photography.

So amongst the craziness I remembered this shot and had to do a quick edit. A little color boost and define & sharpen…

Isn’t God’s creation amazing?

Looks like Kev was searching for romantic places to take you for your anniversary! Did he have his fishin’ pole?? 🙂

  2. Jill Cornelius

LOL! You might be on to something!

  3. Jerry Welch

Excellent pic – but romance? Sorry to burst your bubble, JC … that is simply a dream sequence from his last nap.

  4. The Copeland Family

    Yes, God’s creation is awesome!

  5. Les and Kimberly

Wow, the colors are beautiful and bold in the picture!

Sneak of a Sneak Peek…

I was just thumbing through this session I had of Mr. C yesterday and this little shot just grabbed my attention… He was definitely all smiles. I haven’t even gone through all the images yet, but when I saw this one, I had to stop and do a quick edit on it for a ‘sneak of a sneak peek’!

Be sure to check back to this post or stay tuned for a new post… I’ll be sure to add more once I get them edited. We got many more cute ones!
