A day at the ranch with a Senior 2011…

Yesterday afternoon I headed out East to shoot a senior on her family’s ranch. It was a beautiful place! I took a ton of pictures, so I’m going to go ahead and get started on sharing them with you.

Meet Miss H… And Miss C–her horse!

Whew! That was a lot… But I took a lot and had so many favorites! I hope you enjoy them–thanks again!

Big brother

Mr. J is almost 2 and he’s going to be a big brother really soon. He was such a sweet little guy! And goodness, such a good talker for not quite two. I’m sure he’s going be a grand big brother for mommy & daddy!

Thank you Mr. J! I enjoyed meeting you, your mommy, your daddy and your soon to be brother or sister. You see–Mr. J’s parents are letting this baby be a surprise. Mr. J was a surprise when he was in mommy’s tummy. So neat! I wish I had that kind of willpower–so fun!

You’ll never guess where we were…

I’m always up for new places and when my photographer-friend, Ashlee suggested this place, I was all for it. Why not? You see, we swap holiday sessions and if she ‘sees’ something in a location, then I trust her eye. And most places you’d never think of are actually hidden gems for photography. Even cemeteries! Yep–we were at a cemetery. Well, right outside the entrance, but heck, it worked!

See for yourself! Oh and Ashlee–I sure hope I was able to capture what you were looking for… It’s always a little nerve-jostling when you’re shooting another photographer. 😉

Beautiful family!

Isn’t he a cute guy?

So much fun!

Love this one, but…

I think this might be my fav!

Some of the big guy!

Have to say that I love this one too!

It was good seeing you, Ashlee! Mr. L is as cute as ever and I hope the hubby’s leg/foot is doing better soon. Can’t wait for our session!

It will be here before you know it…

Taking these pics today made me realize that Christmas is right around the corner! It really is… It’ll be here before we know it! These two girls have been on my blog before–a couple times actually!

This time we decided to do something a little more ‘studio’ should we say…

All dressed up!

Secrets… Secrets only sisters can share!

PJ time!

Well, that’s it… Good Night!

Oh wait! One more for fun! Silly-time!

Thank you M Family! The girls were a blast today and I hope they got their prize.

Almost didn’t happen…

Yep–this session almost didn’t happen. The forecast was calling for thunderstorms all day… 80% coverage! We decided to make the trek and head over to the planned destination and see what the weather would do. So far, so good. Almost time for my client to be there and wham–it starts to sprinkle, then it starts to rain. Ugh!

We went back and forth a bit while the rain went off and on–and then finally decided to just tough it out and see what would happen. And amazingly it stopped raining and we were able to get what we wanted! Woo-hoo! Success!

Meet Mr. J and his parents!

Gorgeous family!

Look at those pretty blues…

Love! See the leaves are changing–yay! We are actually in fall, aren’t? Hard to tell sometimes.

Normally, I would take Dad out of this pic, but I thought it was neat to see him watching over his son.

Woo-hoo! Fun with dad!

Mommy’s boy!

Daddy’s guy!

I had to grab this one… Little guy was giggling up a storm while daddy cleaned his dirty feet. Love it!

Thank you A family! I’m glad that we stuck it out and were able to capture these. I hope you enjoy them and I’ll be in touch soon.

Little Man and his Momma

Today I met a cute Little Man and his Momma… He plays soccer and even got a medal for being a fast runner! He was quite the fun little guy too–smiled when he needed to and ran around when we were going from spot to spot. Not bad for a big guy like him!

Meet Mr. H and his mom Ms. S…

He’s a handsome guy!

Found a cool wall…

It’s attached to this neat tunnel!

Already has the posing down!

Mom is so funny!

Love this one… Something about the way the sun is shining through the trees just in the right spot!

Thank you Grandmomma G… I enjoyed meeting your sweet grandson and his mommy! I’ll be in touch soon when the rest are ready.

Can’t help myself…

I seriously can’t. I go through a session trying to narrow down my favorites for a sneak peek and wind up with 20+ images! I tell parents that their sneak peek will have about 5-10 of my favorites and every single time I go over. Oops! Oh well…

Mr. W was no exception. He was a dream baby to be honest. Slept and slept and slept. Woke up, little snack to top him off and he was out again. Minor MAJOR accident on dad and he was out again. Sorry, Dad!

Meet Walker–neat name, huh?!

He’s a tiny little peanut!

Seriously… I love the close-ups!

He was out!

The tiniest of tiny smiles… He was one of those that would smile as soon as I’d put my camera down.

In Daddy’s hands…

Smiling at mommy.

His sweet sisters…

Love how little sister is checking out big sister to see what to do!

Enough already!
Thank you W family! I enjoyed meeting you all. You have a precious family and I can’t wait to capture this first year for you. See you soon!

Speaking of gorgeous…

This baby girl is one special little girl… She is now 69 days old and has been home for 3 of those days. She was born at 35 weeks 6 days with gastroschisis (a birth defect in which an baby’s intestines stick out of the body through a hole in the abdominal wall.) There is no known cause for gastroschisis, and occurs in 1 in every 2500 births. She was born with quite a large amount of her intestines on the outside of her body, and it took 4 surgeries to completely place them all inside of her body. She had 6 surgeries total and after that is ‘fixed’ as they say. Six and fixed! Yay!

Okay, well, I know you’re here for pictures, so I won’t delay anymore. Miss A is a beautiful little girl–I can only imagine how gorgeous she’ll be as she grows up. Enjoy the abundance of pictures!

Sweet smile…

Her mommy makes these fantastic headbands!

Another tiny little smile!

Look at those lashes…

Her face is the perfect image of beauty.

Love this next set… Awake!

Getting sleepy!

And she’s out!
Precious girl…

Love–another great creation by her mommy!

Then we wrapped it up with some pics with mommy & daddy. These are a little more dramatic lighting than what I do for newborns, but I liked it for these!

Pure joy.

Beautiful mommy!

Adore.

Thank you D family for giving me this opportunity. I am honored to be able to photograph her… I know you know some fantastic photographers out there, and I hope I was able to capture her beauty and innocence like you imagined.

This baby is gonna be gorgeous!

Just look at her parents… I met up with J&B this weekend to capture some belly pictures before the Little Miss is here. She’s due in about 4 weeks, but we’ll see if she holds out that long!

We did a combo shoot–started at the house for some ‘studio’ shots and then headed to a special place near their home to do some outdoor stuff. It was a beautiful day, so perfection!

Isn’t mom so beautiful?

Love this series!

Fav!

This place is pretty special to J&B… You see–he proposed to her here!

I told them I was setting up the shot and checking my settings, but managed to capture this moment. Love how he’s just looking at her!

The end!

Thank you J&B! I enjoyed meeting you–it was a fun session… I hope you enjoy your sneak peek and you tell Little Miss to stay put for now so that I am not out of town when she comes. 😉

Mini #3

My final mini session yesterday wrapped up with the G family! I haven’t seen baby A since I did her newborn session and now she is a sitting baby girl. They are such a loving family with probably some of the best behaved boys I’ve ever met. Their Aunt S also came by for a few pics!

Meet the F family! I hear that this was one of their first family sessions ever–so honored!

The kiddos…

Baby girl is so big!

Can you feel the love in the family yet?

Meet Aunt S!

The whole family with Aunt!

Sorry, G family… We just got so many fun family shots! You might have a difficult time picking a favorite–I know I am!

Thank you G family! It was a great ending to a first day of mini sessions.
